Job Overview/Summary:
The Finance Coordinator is a member of the Dallas Administration team and is responsible for essential accounting functions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable, monthly and closing assistance, and file maintenance. The Finance Coordinator offers support to other team members as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Review and process all check requests using SUN system software in a timely manner
  • Prepare vouchers for payment to vendors
  • Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis
  • Assist in the month end closing process
  • Assist in the review and preparation of grant analysis and monthly billings
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports to be submitted to IRC NY/donors per scheduled due dates and /or contractual obligations
  • Serve as Central Cashier for office, including fee collection and weekly bank deposits
  • Maintain finance files and ensure that vouchers are properly copied to client files when necessary
  • Other Finance duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • AA degree with a Certificate of Achievement in Accounting or Business or at least 6 college units in accounting; 4-year degree in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum of two years experience using Microsoft Excel and other accounting software, knowledge of SUN systems a plus
  • Experience with accounting and book keeping procedures; previous non-profit agency experience preferred
  • Able to read and analyze Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet Statements
  • Excellent communication and follow up skills - both verbal and written
  • Well organized, high attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm about working in a multi-cultural setting
  • Self direction and initiative to take the lead on projects when needed and to follow through to completion
  • Ability to prioritize and to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
