CNFA specializes in fostering private sector investments in training, new technologies and marketing as a means to increase the overall competitiveness of agricultural value chains, to expand exports, and to develop skills in the rural workforce. CNFA assists smallholders in increasing household-level food security and nutrition through improved agricultural practices, introduction of new varieties, diversification of crop production, food preservation and storage, development of farmer-based organizations and strengthened linkages to markets.
Project Description
CNFA is currently seeking qualified candidates for the upcoming USAID-funded Tajikistan Agriculture and Water to Optimize Nutrition (TAWON) project. The project will support smallholder farmers in addressing lack of dietary diversity and poor nutrition.
Position Summary
The Chief of Party (COP) will provide overall project leadership and management; liaise with USAID officials and counterparts from other implementing partners, agencies, and organizations; and serve as the project's official point-of-contact. The COP will be responsible for all aspects of activity implementation, including contract reporting and deliverables, and will take a leadership role in coordination amongst USAID and key stakeholders, and other implementing partners.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in international agricultural development, preferably in extension, horticulture, dairy, water management, nutrition, and/or women's empowerment.
  • Master's degree in international development, public policy, nutrition, agriculture, gender and development, or a related field..
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage challenging projects, with a minimum 8 years of experience in management/leadership positions.
  • Experience in similar development contexts as Tajikistan is preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; competency in Russian desirable.
