PATH is seeking a Technical Proposal Writer on an as-needed basis with expertise in responding to US Government Request for Applications (RFA) and Request for Proposals (RFP) from various donors such as USAID, CDC, NIH, bilateral donors and private foundations. S/he will work with technical experts and proposal management team to write a competitive technical response.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the proposal writing process in response to solicitations.
  • Review solicitations, identify strategy and win themes.
  • Write and /or edit proposal sections such as executive summary, technical approach, corporate capability, management and staffing plans, and other sections to adhere to PATH's style manual.
  • Participate in proposal strategy, design, and review sessions throughout the life of the proposal.
  • Review and contribute to proposal outlines and ensure responsiveness to solicitations.
  • Work with subject matter experts to prepare material for proposals, including interviewing experts and/or reviewing and revising text prepared by experts to incorporate into technical volume.
  • Review proposal pieces and final text for clarity, consistency and responsiveness to RFP/RFA requirements.
  • May require travel to the field to write and conduct research to better inform the technical.
Required Skills
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with previous success in writing winning USAID, CDC, DFID, NIH, bilateral donors and/or private foundation proposals.
  • Ability to create engaging text while maintaining technical accuracy.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of global health issues and technical exposure to areas such as maternal and child health, nutrition, family planning, Tuberculosis, HIV, digital health, health management information systems, or Malaria.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.
Required Experience
M.A., or equivalent experience in international relations, development, journalism, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of proposal development experience pursuing USAID, CDC, DFID, NIH, bilateral donors and/or private foundations.
